Both are white, reflective and heat-welded — but TPO and PVC perform differently. Here's how to choose for warehouses, restaurants and industrial roofs.
TPO and PVC look almost identical from the ground. Both are white single-ply membranes with heat-welded seams. The differences show up in cost, chemical resistance and the type of building they protect.
Cost
TPO is usually the more affordable of the two, which makes it the most popular choice for large warehouses and distribution centers.
Chemical and grease resistance
PVC holds up far better against kitchen grease, oils and many industrial chemicals. For restaurants and processing plants, that resistance often makes PVC cheaper over the life of the roof.
Energy efficiency
Both reflect most of the sun's energy and can meaningfully reduce cooling costs in Fort Worth summers.
Our recommendation
For most offices, retail centers and warehouses, TPO delivers excellent value. If your roof sees grease or chemical exhaust, choose PVC. Not sure? Ask for a free assessment.
